How a home X-ray works

01

Book now. Send the form with the X-ray your doctor has asked for. Our Care Team calls you back within 5 minutes to confirm the prescription and lock a slot.

02

The technician comes to you. A trained Healkin technician arrives with a portable digital X-ray, sets up in the room the patient is already in, and shields everyone in it.

03

The report reaches your phone. Images are captured on the spot. A radiologist reports them, and both the images and the report are shared with you digitally to pass on to your doctor.

Why families book this instead of a hospital trip

Nobody moves the patient

This is the whole point. A bedridden parent, someone in a plaster cast, a post-operative patient — the machine travels instead of them, so there is no ambulance, no stretcher and no waiting room.

Radiation handled properly

The exposure is a fraction of a second and the technician uses radiation-safety accessories for the patient and for anyone else in the room. Pregnant patients, or anyone who suspects they may be pregnant, must tell us before booking.

A radiologist reads it

You are not left holding a raw image to interpret yourself. The digital images go to a radiologist and come back as a written report your treating doctor can act on.

Questions, answered

Do I need a prescription?
Yes. An X-ray can only be taken against a valid prescription from your doctor, which our Care Team checks on the confirmation call. Keep it handy — a photo on your phone is enough.
Is a home X-ray as clear as one at a centre?
The equipment is digital and the images are read by a radiologist, the same as at a centre. A small number of views need a fixed machine that cannot be carried into a home — if the X-ray on your prescription is one of those, the coordinator will tell you on the call rather than after the visit.
How much space do you need at home?
Less than people expect. A bed or a chair with clear space around it is usually enough for the technician to position the patient and the equipment safely. If access is tight, mention it on the call.
Can I book this for my parent or a bedridden patient?
Yes, and most home X-rays are exactly that. Put your own number on the form so we reach you, and share the patient's details on the call.
Is the price on this page the final price?
X-rays start at ₹500+. The Care Team confirms your exact total on the call, before anything is scheduled.
When do I get the report?
The images are captured during the visit. They go to a radiologist, and the report is shared with you digitally as soon as it is reviewed and available — no second trip to collect a film.
